Getting Started: A Small Word About Prayer

There is a rhythm to prayer.
A divine exchange between heaven and earth.
To cover and be covered.
To cleanse and be cleansed.
To hear and be heard.

Within this site, you will find a pool of prayers born of moments I initially couldn’t find words for, but then wrote them as God supported me. 

This moment was born out of that sacred rhythm and cadence — moments when words failed, but the heart still reached upward.

But these are shared in this space, keenly, for you – the one who prays through tears and triumphs, through confusion and clarity, through the waiting and the breakthrough. It is for all of God’s people who are still learning that prayer is not about performance, but about presence. It’s not about having the perfect words — it’s about having a willing heart.

The first line of The Purpose Driven Life says, “It’s not about you.”

And that truth is echoed here.
It’s about Him.
It’s about the God who covers, cleanses, restores, and redeems.
The God who still speaks when we listen — and listens when we speak.

So before you move further, pause.

Whisper this prayer with me:

Lord, guide my steps, my stops, and my stays.  Cover me — and everything You’ve given me stewardship over — to do Your will.

Teach me to walk in Your love, and to share that love wherever I go.  Let every prayer in this book be a seed of faith that takes root, bearing fruit in my life and in the lives of others.

Prayer is not just communication; it’s communion.
It’s the bridge between the dust of our humanity and the glory of His divinity.
