Before We Ask… We Worship

We often come to God with hands full of requests but hearts too hurried to rest in His presence. We pray for help, direction, healing, breakthrough, provision — and He welcomes every need… But Scripture reminds us that before God is our Provider, He is our Father, our King, our Creator, and the One our souls were made to worship.

God did not create us simply to ask, but to know Him, to walk with Him, and to be transformed by His presence. He desires hearts that seek Him for who He is, not only for what He does.

Jesus warned, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…”
(Matthew 7:21–23).

Those chilling words — “I never knew you” — remind us that the most important pursuit of our lives is relationship, not religion… intimacy, not routine.

When our prayers become self-centered, we drift from God’s heart. But when worship becomes our first language, everything shifts – our desires, our motives, our priorities, and our perspective.

The more we seek His face, the more clearly we hear His voice.  The more we desire His presence, the more aligned we become with His will. The more we worship, the more our prayers naturally begin to reflect His heart.

God is faithful to meet needs — but He is yearning for something deeper:  A people who love Him more than His blessings. A people who say, “Lord, I want You more than anything You can give me.”

When intimacy with God becomes your priority, His answers become clearer.  When worship leads the way, prayer becomes powerful.  When your heart bows before His majesty, your requests flow from a place of trust, reverence, and surrender.

So today… before you ask Him for one thing…

Worship Him for everything He is.
