Ingredients
VERY SIMPLE
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cut up or cubed
- 2 cups self-rising flour (Get the good stuff… White Lily, Martha White, Pillsbury, Gold Medal)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- A a little melted butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Use a fork or butter cutter.
- Stir in buttermilk just until moistened. Feel free to use a fork at first, then flour your hands and bring it all together.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 3-4 times.
- Pat or lightly roll to 1/2in or 3/4-in. thick. Choose your thickness!
- Cut with a floured biscuit cutter, or use the rim of a glass.
- Place on a baking sheet. No need to grease it!
- HINT: Place the biscuits side by side to help them RISE to their potential!!
- Bake at 425° until golden brown, 11-13 minutes.
- Brush tops with that melted butter.
- Serve!
Notes
Eat them warm… My kids love them even as an afterschool snack.
